Google has announced that they are giving their Google Plus profile URL a makeover and it is making a lot of people happy.
What does it have to do with Joan Rivers…?
Not much, but when I think of make-overs I think of Joan. I’m silly like that.
The Old Google Plus URL looked like: https://plus.google.com/113223547287784394085/posts <- Joan’s G+ Page
The NEW Google Plus URL looked like: https://plus.google.com/+joanrivers/posts <- The soon to be new Joan’s G+ Page
Google Plus Gives Purls
PURL’s (personal URL’s) are nothing new and we all know keyword load URLs always work better then a bunch of random digits. It’s much more user friendly because just by looking at the URL we can tell what a post or page is about. This one of the reasons why we set our clients’s URLs to contain keywords as opposed to random digits.
Not Everyone Gets Access To The New Google+ PURLS, Only For the Elite First
Kinda like the real world, only the rich and famous get make-overs first, then us minions will get access later. Only verified accounts are getting the new URL first. Singers celebs like Britney Spears, and big companies like +TOYOTA will see the changes to their URL first, then the rest of us will get the new URL.
Let me know what you think about this Google URL makeover below and of who you think got the better make-over.
BTW, if you haven’t seen the documentary on Joan Rivers, you really should, she is an incredibly talented comedian that has been through a lot.

Thanks for the head’s up on this. I didn’t know Google was rolling these out. On another note, I’ve never cared for Joan Rivers and my opinion of her has soured even more after watching her on Celebrity Apprentice a couple years ago.
Travis Van Slooten
Glad we could help Travis. I think she is one of those comedians that people either love or hate!
